Black History Project

The Black History Month Committee seeks to heighten awareness and to celebrate cultural diversity through its sponsorship of a school-wide writing contest, art contest, and assembly.  Grants funds will provide contest prizes and supplies.  Faculty Advisor—Denise Satterfield

 

Rachel’s Table and Project Linus

Student members of ELNA (Education and Leadership for a Non-Violent Age) will prepare food and distribute it to homeless shelters through Rachel’s Table.  They will also make blankets, to be distributed through Project Linus to children in need of comfort. Grant funds will help provide supplies needed to complete both projects.  Faculty Advisor—Patricia Crosson

 

Vex Skyrise Robotics Season

The SHS Engineering Club provides students with the opportunity to build robots and to compete locally and worldwide.  The Alumni Grant will help defray the cost of materials.  Faculty Advisor--Paul Wood


Alumni Grant Video

Students in the SHS Educational TV Studio will produce an informational video about the grants supported by the Alumni Association this school year.  It will be televised on the local educational channel.  Faculty Advisor--Margaret Korab
